Directions for use

Preparation of the substrate for ZP ADHESIVE-GROUT

The substrate should be stable, dry or dull, even (without cavities or cracks) and free from contamination, i.e. oil, cement laitance, old coatings and any signs of biological aggression. Dirt and layers with poor adhesion should be removed and replenished with a suitable material.

The joints should be dry and the depth should be at least 2/3 of the thickness of the tiles. Glue or mortar that may have escaped to the surface while the tiles are being laid should be removed while they are still fresh.

Application of ZP ADHESIVE-GROUT

After opening the package of ZP ADHESIVE-GROUT, mix the two ingredients together in the proportion provided in the kit. Mix thoroughly until a uniform consistency is achieved. To avoid overheating, it is recommended to mix with a slow-speed electric mixer. The mortar prepared in this way should be applied within a maximum of 45 minutes.

Bonding

Apply the uniform mortar with a toothed trowel. Lay the tiles by slightly pressing and moving them. Adjustments can be made up to 45 minutes. After final setting, the adhesive achieves high mechanical and chemical strength.

Grouting

Work the uniform mortar into the joints with a rubber float to the full depth of the joint. Remove any excess mortar. Then clean the surface of the tiles by wetting it with water and wiping it with a hard sponge float, preferably in a circular motion. Take care not to damage or excessively pick up mortar from the joints. Any liquid soiling left behind by the hard sponge is removed with a wet cellulose sponge until the surface is clean. The cellulose sponge should be rinsed frequently in clean water. Once the surface is clean and the joints have been profiled with the cellulose sponge, we leave the joints to set, protecting them from the stress of foot traffic and water. It is important that no traces of mortar remain on the surface of the tiles after profiling, as it is very difficult to remove once it has hardened.

Notes

  • protective clothing, goggles and gloves should be worn at work
  • store in original sealed packaging, in a cool and dry place
  • protect from direct sunlight
  • clean tools immediately after use, after the material has hardened, mechanically
  • carry out the work in accordance with the rules of the trade, the standards and the relevant health and safety regulations.
